Hello Goodbye

So I just wanted to update on the latest changes to the family. There have been quite a few farewells and welcomes since I last updated, which was a while ago. (OMG! I just realised I haven't posted anything in nearly 2 months!)

The Goodbyes
Due to personal circumstances, I had to put quite a number of my girls up on the market, which I was devastated about. These little ones have already found new homes to take them in, which gives me some measure of comfort.

Rinka, left on 30th October.

Kaibara, left on 18th November.

Morianna, left on 20th November.

Mihana, left on 6th December.

...and then on to some happier news.

The Welcomes
I had jumped into way way way too many layaways, and then I suddenly realised they were all supposed to end at the same time. Luckily, I managed to pay them all off, so these little girls were able to come home.

Volks Yo-tenshi Hinata
No name yet, arrived on 5 December.

Latidoll Yellow Elena
Fuyumi, arrived on 11 December.

In this hobby, there are always hellos and goodbyes.

So, my internet has been down, and it still is, but I thought I should really get on to post a goodbye to one of our oldest residents here at Chateau Miyana.

Yesterday, we bid goodbye to sweet Yuri. My pretty girly boy has finally found a new home. She has gone off now to the home of one of my close friends in the dolly hobby (the previous owner of our lovely Asako), and I'm sure she will be pampered there. But it's still sad for me to say goodbye to this lovely one, who has been with me since I started this hobby.

xoxo

You will be missed.

Another one leaves the nest.

Momoki left today. The buyer was suddenly able to complete her layaway, and she paid me (almost) in full. I feel a bit sad at parting with her, but I'm sure her new owner will be good to her. Feeling a bit nostalgic now, thinking about Momo and Tomo together. One of the other reasons I let Momo go, was also because I felt like she wasn't really herself after Tomo went. Tomo has gone on to another new home recently - a lovely guy who is new to the BJD hobby, and whom I had the pleasure to talk to. I know from our conversation that he adores that little boy. I hope Momo will find the same kind of loving home.

A couple of my favorite pictures of the pair:

After the sad news, some happy news! Now that Momo has been paid for, the funds I am getting mean that I can now pay off my layaway for Yu Morisawa in full after my payday next week. Really looking forward to that! And my lovely peacock girls are on their way home too!

Little changes, Small surprise

I had a bit of an impulse moment earlier, deciding to trade my Kasumi for a Yo-sd Lin. I had brought Kasumi out for a doll-meet (as, if you don't know yet, I am preparing to move house, and everyone else is pretty much packed up nicely in their boxes...only Kasumi doesn't have a box), and my friend took a liking to him/her and requested a trade. Somehow it worked out...because I've always wanted a Lin, but just never had an opportunity to welcome one into the clan. I had been planning to re-shell my Kasumi's character, so the timing was great. Honestly, I loved Kasumi's face-up. It was a real masterpiece by the lovely and talented AngelToast. But I never bonded much with Kasumi, and the face-up was a last-ditch effort to save our relationship (this makes it sound so serious!) The thing that really clinched the deal for me was that Lin had an equally beautiful face-up (done by a well-known korean artist, Rabiruna - something I only found out a few minutes ago, after I had already brought her home.)

I've never done a trade on impulse, and I really hope I don't regret it. But right now, things are feeling pretty good. As for the character...Lin's (I really need to give her a name) personality is very different from the gentle but boyish Kasumi, and she is taking to the role in a completely different way. That being said, I don't think it's a bad thing. She's very stunning in her own way.

Volks Yo-tenshi Kasumi as Yukina

Volks Yo-sd Lin portraying the same character differently

Edit: I found that the bottom of her chin has a chip on the face-up. Wonder if I can get that fixed without changing the face-up?

Wew...

It's been ages since I last posted anything, I know. Since that time, Neru has of course come back from her trip to the face-up artist to be re-uinted with Yume.

Apart from that, Asako is having a complete make-over into a tiny fairy kei girl, so I've sent her off for face-up with Allemarthe. The outfit below was custom made by Arion of Eccentric Romance and the wig by Monstrodesigns. Much love to them for making one of my dreams come to life :)

Also, we've had a couple of new members join the family in the meantime:

Meron - Volks Yo-tenshi Ken

 Yukina - Volks Yo-tenshi Kasumi

Amaya (left) - Soom Human Beyla and Mihana (right) -Soom Human Minette

Rini - Circuskane Suzy

And a currently nameless floating Migidoll Sleeping Miho head.

Also, Dante has left the Chateau to go on a long journey.

Another Farewell.

I shipped Takeru out two days ago. Out of all the dolls I let go...Takeru has been with me the longest. Even so, I've been preparing to part with him for quite a while. There was a period of time when he used to travel everywhere with me. But he soon became overshadowed by bigger dolls. I never ended up liking his size, and never got any others of that size. In the end, he didn't fit in anymore, so I decided to let him go.

Here's to you, my little bunny-lover friend. Hope you find a much better place.

Farewell, Roselle.

I only put my Leekeworld Iris up on DOA for 2 hours (it got taken down due to the doll being considered as off-topic), but someone took notice of it. And now she's sold. The buyer even paid the full price upfront. Because she seemed so excited about having another Iris (she already has one in Lovely B Skin), I decided to give in to her request to underdeclare the package and also absorbed half the shipping fee. This way, at least I can guarantee that Rose will be going to a good home with someone who will really adore her.

Goodbye Sumomo!

Sumomo (My HDF Choux) left a couple of days ago for a new home. I was a bit sad to see her go...since she was the first doll I ordered. But the 3 month waiting period really put a damper on us developing any substantial bond. Of course, the other thing was that when she came to me...I had already built a crew that she didn't quite fit into. Shiina doesn't quite fit in either, but I don't have the same kind of nostalgia and emotional attachment when it comes to Sumomo.

The good news is that her new owner was very excited to receive her!

And her is a picture of Sumomo (now called Pistachio) settling into her new home. She looks really happy, so I'm kind of half glad I let her go.
